DisputeSuite

Proof of Address and the Bureaus

When running your credit repair business the credit bureaus require proof of client’s addresses to process most disputes.

In some cases they will process disputes without the address.  But even in those cases, they will still send a letter to your clients informing them that they won’t process their disputes without proof of address for your client.

It is always best practice for you to gather proof of address from your client, so you can include it along with all disputes you send to the credit bureaus.

The credit bureaus will accept many items as evidence of your address. These items include:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Utility bill with the correct address (Gas, Water, Cable, Residential phone bill)
  • Cell phone bill
  • Pay stub
  • W2 form
  • 1099 form
  • Rental Lease Agreement/House Deed
  • Mortgage statement
  • Bank statement
  • State ID

Make sure you gather at least one of these documents from each of your clients to verify their current address. Be sure to then include that proof of address with all credit bureau disputes to increase your dispute success and to expedite dispute processing.

In the DisputeSuite Software there is a convenient feature that in one-click allows you to print the identification with your dispute letters, saving you time, so be sure to check out that feature when you print your letters.
